In this episode of Catalyst, Tammy sits down with Prashant Hinge, Chief Information and Transformation Officer at MSIG USA. With nearly two decades in insurance, Prashant knows how to cut through the noise. Balancing passion and pragmatism, he has solved problems and delivered outcomes in every corner of a complex industry. Tammy and Prashant discuss the practicalities of AI adoption, the importance of people-centered technology and how to lead through uncertainty.

Highlights from the episode include:

  • Separate ideas from identities. Prashant emphasizes creating environments where teams can disconnect ideas from the people who propose them. This approach prevents the loudest storytellers from dominating decisions and enables better problem-solving.
  • The triathlete mindset. Success in the AI era requires three core skills: understanding the business context, basic AI literacy and deep domain expertise. Small teams with this combination can accomplish what used to require 30 or 40 people.
  • Fix the foundation first. AI cannot solve problems built on broken processes or poor data quality. Organizations must address these fundamentals before expecting AI initiatives to scale successfully.

Check out the full episode to learn more about why there’s no AI without process and data and how a simple AI storytelling tool became a favorite at home with Prashant’s kids.
