Our annual flagship client event — Nexus — was about a year ago in San Diego. Leaders from across industries gathered for thought-provoking sessions and real connection. We celebrated innovators, heard from disruptors and collectively accepted the challenge to stay curious.
Today, we're reflecting on what’s changed since then and what’s just as resonant and relevant today:
- The AI conversation is still at a fever pitch. AI hasn’t gone anywhere and agentic is now the hot topic. But with an additional year of using these tools, we’re all more discerning about what they’re good for. The tone has changed from, “This is incredible!” to, “This is incredibly useful for these things.” We’re also seeing a new bottleneck to progress: enterprise architecture and infrastructure.
- Only the curious will thrive. This was our theme in 2025 and it’s still true. Success with AI requires an open mind, experimentation and a willingness to be surprised. It also requires trusting our own subject-matter expertise enough to raise an eyebrow when AI seems off.
- The power is in the simplicity, not the technology. Artificial Intelligence was a thing long before ChatGPT was released. The revelation was in a chat interface that everyone can use; making powerful large-language models accessible to the masses.
- Nothing beats being together. One of the best parts of Nexus every year is simply being together in the same space. Community and human connection is a powerful antidote to the uncertainty around us.
What we create together at Nexus reminds us of the importance of being human. We can’t wait for this year’s event.
