Lear has always been committed to innovation. However, the newly formalized open innovation program’s pipeline was stuck, and the company wanted better results. Lear sought a strategic partner to customize an operating model, including these core elements critical to success; strategy, systems, organization, and communication. Alongside program enhancements, Launch also supported welcoming the company’s first CTO to help to lead the charge in launching Lear Innovation Ventures (LIV).
Innovation Operating System (OS)
Launch’s innovation operating system minimizes friction and risk by integrating enterprise pipeline and portfolio management systems, software, and executive dashboards. The OS also includes specialized tools and methods such as design thinking, quantified rankings, and project-level reporting that help organizations collect, evaluate, incubate, implement, and commercialize new, novel, and valuable ideas.
Executive marketing, change management, & communications
Organizations require effective change management to implement innovation, including communication and inspiration of what innovation means to them. Launch helped Lear create Lear Innovation Ventures (LIV) by crafting board presentations, benchmarking insights, and a unique brand identity and collateral.

Extension of project teams and access to skills & competency
Blending internal and external teams creates healthy cross-team dynamics, rapid responses, flexibility, and impact to culture. External resources expedite speed-to-value, allowing project teams to focus on meaningful work, while access to design and engineering pools enable experimentation, building, and learning with the right skills at the right time.
Access to emerging and disruptive technologies
Our teams offer access to emerging and disruptive technologies to help organizations, and our frameworks help translate ideas into focused action plans that identify the right technology for each opportunity.
